Good Lessons

This morning Holli and I went with our 4-H club to help an elderly couple with yard work. We cleaned up the yard, planted flowers and picked weeds. This was a great way to spend the morning and I love that Holli is learning the importance of helping others. They had a herd of sheep that Holli just loved. The Ewe's are all about to have babies. The owner of the property, Earl, offered to give us a lamb when they're born. I would LOVE to have one and I wish we had the space for one. I think we'll have to settle for visiting them for now.

Baaa! The sheep were very talkative!

There were baby cows across the street. So cute!

Supervising the burn pile.

The couple was very appreciative of the work and fed us a nice hot dog lunch. Now we're off to Holli's soccer game and then dinner with friends. I love the weekends!

Another Handbag

I had so much fun making the purse for Heavenly Handbags so I made one for myself. This time was much easier since I wasn't using upholstery fabric. I'm really happy with the final product!

Happy Easter

I hope everyone has had a nice Easter. We've had a very rainy weekend which made for a wet and muddy Easter. This morning we hosted a DW2 brunch and egg hunt. Our house was very full! Luckily, we got a 30 minute break from the rain so we could have the egg hunt outside. We had 240 eggs and the kids had them picked up in just a couple of minutes. Everyone had a really nice time and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Egg Hunt! I think we'll try to get the Easter Bunny to show up next year!

Easter Cupcakes. Holli and I had fun making these.

The kids are coming down from their sugar high and Drew and I are going out to eat. We have a sitter and are going to enjoy a nice dinner at Sweeny's!

Loving the outdoors

We love being outside when the weather is nice. Evening though we've all been suffering from colds for several days, we managed to have a fun and full weekend outside.

On Saturday, Holli's soccer team, the Park Poodles, had their first game. The girls had so much fun!

On Sunday, we went to Phil's World for some family Mountain Biking. We went with another family and everyone had a really good time. Dylan did exceptionally well. Drew and Dylan hung back from the rest of us so Dylan could take his time and they could take the shorter loop. Well, they ended up going on the 'extended' trail by accident. This was 6 miles of singletrack! Dylan rode the entire thing on his tiny bike and finished only about 20 minutes after Holli and I. He was such a trooper and smiled most of the time.

The kids ready to ride! I'm so excited for Holli to get a Mountain Bike this summer!

Dylan cruisin down the trail!

Heavenly Handbags

A friend and I recently signed up to make some purses for an organization called Heavenly Handbags. Local stores donate the fabric and then volunteers sew the purse. The purses are filled with supplies and given to women in need in the Four Corners area. The purse was fun to make and I'm excited to make more. Maybe I'll make one for myself :)

Soccer Days

Soccer season started yesterday and Holli loved it! And you know what she was most excited about? Wearing her pink soccer socks and using her pink soccer ball. All the girls had a great time at their first practice. By the end of practice they had decided on a team name... The Park Poodles. So cute!

I'm so happy that Drew is an assistant coach. My dad always helped coach our teams and I loved it! The first game is this Saturday. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Hero in the house

I am so lucky to have my very own super hero looking after me.

Did you know that Superheros wear watches and don't smile?

Superheros also have paper work to complete.

April Foolin

We've been having fun today with April Fools. We made a 'sponge' cake for the kids and played a trick on them.

G'ma's in the HOUSE

We are so happy to have Grandma here visiting.

We had a delicious taco lunch at Holli's school.

Had a little tour of the school.

Holli had to go back to class so Dylan, Grandma and I went to the Durango Discovery Museum and made a Robot.

Then we made an animated movie.
